CONTACTLESS EXTENSOMETERS
VIDEOEXTENSOMETER
|
Particularly adequate for tests on high elongation specimens materials (steel plates, plastic materials, elastomers, etc, for determination of elongation at maximum load and/or rupture and, as well, when there are performed tests on this type of specimens at different temperature from room temperature (for example, in environmental chambers). The image is digitalized by a DCC camera and is processed by a computer in real time. This image processing allows the determination of the elongation during mechanical deformations. The use of the videoextensometer has many advantages in comparison with conventional mechanical extensometers.
