GENERAL DESCRIPTION
| The frame has a single test space, composed by a base plate, four over dimensioned columns and one upper closing crosshead. Manufactured according to Standards EN 10002-2; ASTM E4, ISO 7500-1; DIN 51221 and BS1610. A double-acting hydraulic actuator is mounted in the higher crosshead in line with the upper tensile gripping head. Over the base plate is mounted the lower tensile gripping head. Hydraulic gripping heads (upper and lower) with wedge closing system and independent opening/closing module for each head. Load measuring system by a full bridge strain gauge load cell, with temperature compensation. In the standard supply are included all the clamping jaws for the hydraulic gripping heads as well as one set of compression plates. Stroke transducer for controlling piston position, automatic return to starting position and stroke control (mm/min). After the test, the tensile gripping head returns to its initial fixed position to be ready for the next test, which is really useful for serial/repetitive tests. This advantage can be activated or not activated using our Win Test32 software. Hydraulic group housed in the metallic frame with closed loop control by manifold with servovalve. Electric cabinet mounted in the hydraulic group frame. |

UNIVERSAL TESTING FRAME UMIB
This test frame is the basic component of the UMIB/W series machines. Formed by four main columns and manufactured as per the Standards:
UNE-7281, DIN-51220, 51222, 51223, 51227, 51228, ASTM-E4, BS-1610 and EN-10002-1 (1990).
- The frame has a single test space, allowing several uses by interchanging testing devices.
- The four over dimensioned columns afford the machine a high degree of stiffness. The crosshead is locked tightly in place by a special plate-column friction system based on high-strength screws. The oil free system avoids the leak-tightness problems. The locking system is operated automatically by a hydraulic locking/unlocking device.
- The crosshead height can be adjusted with lateral hydraulic jacks. This improves the working conditions because the operator can adjust the compression testing space height to suit his needs.
- The test frame is accessible from all sides, making it possible to fit specimen feeding devices and automatic strain measuring systems.
- The large free distance between gripping heads (0 - 1000 mm, including the piston stroke) makes it possible to use devices for performing tests at high and low temperatures, and test large specimens without the need for modifications.
- A bedplate with a series of standardized holes for attaching the gripping devices and other devices for testing building components.
- A ground double-acting actuator mounted in the lower crosshead.
- Four chromium plated columns providing protection against corrosion and ease of maintenance.
- A height-adjustable mobile crosshead, locked with screws at the height required for the tests. The universal load cell (tensile-compression testing) is mounted on the upper crosshead. In series, on the lower part of the load cell, is mounted the upper gripping head with a ball-and-joint socket and a locking system for compression tests.
AUTOMATIC HYDRAULIC LOCKING/UNLOCKING CROSSHEAD ADJUSTEMENT SYSTEM
APPLICATIONS
This system complements the lateral hydraulic jacks which control the vertical movement of the crosshead. The screw-based locking system, manually operated with a torque wrench, is replaced by remote, push-button controlled hydraulic pistons which automatically lock and unlock the crosshead and, therefore, the upper gripping head.

ADVANTAGES
- The system allows fast positioning of the crosshead by means of a displacement transducer (LVDT) axially placed in the piston with 300 mm. of maximum stroke. This is particularly useful when testing different sized specimens.
- The lateral hydraulic jacks and complementary automatic locking/unlocking system can be used to tauten the specimen slightly before the test (very useful in particular for non-rigid specimens such as chains, cables, ropes, etc.).
- The crosshead does not move unless unlocked (safety protection).
EQUIPMENT
- Releasing cylinders, adapters and hydraulic pipes for connection to the high-pressure hydraulic power unit.
- Directional seat valve.
- Relief valve.
- Safety switch valve.
GRIPPPING HEADS
FAST ACTING
These heads are particularly suitable for low-frequency, positive-load static or dynamic tensile tests (shaped-wave tests exceeding zero point) of cylindrical or prismatic specimens, with or without a head and made of metal or any other material. Rated test load = maximum static test load: up to 600 kN
- Fast-grip.

- Automatic wedge-grip.
- Guided-wedge centering.
- Fast and easy-to-change wedges.
- Front-accessible gripping space.
- Extensive gripping possibilities.
- Simple and easy to handle.
- Tempered and ground wedge guides.
- Wedge-holders for oscillating clamps for gripping deformed specimens.
HYDRAULIC
Specially recommended on the following cases:
- High load applications
- Complicated fastening sample
- Zero passing test
- Dynamic applications For any section specimens , with or without a head and made of metal or any other material.
Rated test load = maximum static test load: up to 1000 kN

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
EUROTEST TESTING FRAME
Developed for its use in Quality Control and Materials Testing Research Laboratories.
Applications: metals, plastics, composites, ropes, fabrics, paper, etc.
Mainly dened for carrying out tensile tests according with EN 10.002-1 and analogue standards as ASTM and ASME. With additional devices, compression, bending, folding, shear, punch, extrusion, etc tests can be performed according to several standards and over a large amount of materials.
High and low temperature tests can be carried out using thermal chambers, ovens or cooling systems.
TESTING FRAME ELEMENTS
Lower frame: mounted over it the lower testing device and inside it the mechanical transmission system of the screw drivers.
Machines with higher capacity than 200 kN, use two reducers (one per each screw driver), to increase the mechanical gain and assure the needed torque.
Frame covered by epoxy painted panels.
Base with auto leveling system with ball and socket joints. Allows direct placing of the machine over the laboratory floor, only being needed a resistant horizontal surface.
Two or four guiding columns and two high precision ball screw drivers with hard chromium coating, to assure an optimum load share and linear displacement of the mobile crosshead.
The mobile crosshead is displaced by the screw drivers and guided by the columns. The upper testing device, serial mounted with the load cell is placed under the crosshead.
The frame is closed with a superior crosshead to increase the rigidity.
Optional a secondary load cell could be mounted on the top crosshead, converting the machine in a double testing space one.
Mechanical transmission: two reducers (machines over 200kN) directly connected to screw drivers. The engine pulley system is connected to the reducers by means of a high resistance belt or chain.
LOAD MEASURING SYSTEM
Universal strain gauge load cell (tension compression), high precision and repeatability. Same capacity as
the maximum load of the testing frame.
The quality of the load cells used, guarantees the 0,5 class according with ISO 7500-1 within the measuring range (1 to 100% of the nominal capacity).
The data obtained in the load cell is used for two applications: test results and to to allow the MD series control system to calculate the kN/sec load speed.
EPROM memory incorporated for safe calibration parameters saving. Even if the machines control fails, these data won’t be lost.
Additional load cells could be installed, to increase the load measuring capacity or for special applications. Anyhow, the 0.5 class is always assured.
DISPLACEMENT MEASURING SYSTEM
By means of a resolver which allows a 0,001 mm displacement resolution. The data obtained in the resolver is used for two applications: test results and to allow the MD series control system to calculate the mm/min crosshead displacement speed.
