HYDRAULIC TESTING FRAME  Mod. PEV-500-MD2-W

For structures testing, research and characterization

Metallic portal frame anchored on concrete floor, dimensioned and equipped with the necessary devices to perform tests as:

  • Tensile test on forged structures and floors of a maximum section of 1500 x 400 mm and maximum length: 5000 mm, with front load or divided in two points (bending on 3 or 4 points, respectively).
  • Tensile test on concrete beams with a maximum rectangular section of 650 x 40 mm or “T” type (maximum wing: 400 mm) and maximum length: 6000 mm, with central load or divided in two points (bending on 3 or 4 points, respectively).

Totally automatic, with servo control in closed loop, by means of a hydraulic power unit servo controlled and a programming, command and control computerized, with specific software, 32 bits, under WINDOWS environment.

 

DESCRIPTION OF THE INSTALLATIONThe installation is basically composed by:
  • Test bridge, with a metallic structure, 500 kN capacity, PEV-500 type.
  • Hydraulic Central servo controlled, BES type.
  • Control system MD2 through WINTEST software.

TESTING FRAME

The testing frame is formed by a central load portal frame and two supporting lateral portal frames, mounted on a supporting bench and all anchored to a concrete floor.

MAIN FEATURES
  • Load capacity: 500 kN.PEV-500-MF2_alone
  • Class 1 according to ISO 7500, in the measuring range.
  • Scales: 2 (1/1 and 1/5 of the maximum load).
  • Measuring range: from 10 to 500 kN.
  • Piston stroke: 300 mm.
  • Horizontal free distance (distance between columns): 2000 mm.
  • Vertical free distance: 0 – 800 mm, adjustable.
  • Manual system of elevation of the bending supports anchored by means of high resistance screws on screw drills.
  • Distance between load rollers: between 200 and 2000 mm, adjustable by steps of 100 mm.
  • Distance between support rollers: between 600 and 6000 mm, adjustable by steps of 200 mm.
  • Dimensions of rollers (load and support): 40 mm diam x 1600 mm length.
MAIN PARTS COMPOSING THE TESTING FRAME
  • Support bench: two metallic structures, each of them 3 m length, formed by UPN profiles in its perimeter, and which wings have the function of guide rails for the portal frames-support of the tensile cylinders. The main portal frame including the load hydraulic cylinder is anchored on the support.
  • Portal frame central formed by:
    • 2 columns are the elements lifting the threshold or upper crosshead, by means of anchoring screws. The columns, in their lower part, have a welded base which is anchored to the support bench. Columns as well as the base are made of structural square tube.
    • Upper threshold formed by two HEB profiles, united between them through welding and channelled at both ends to be anchored to the columns. In the central part it includes a circular machined which enables the housing of the load piston or servocylinder of the installation, the load cell designed for the force measurement of the installation is fixed on its head.
  • Bending bridge, hanging from the servocylinder and the load cell by means of a fork, it includes the load rollers, adjustable for a distance between 200 and 2000 mm, to adapt to the different tests.
  • Two support-portal frames for the support roller, each one formed by two pillars and a threshold acting as a base for the corresponding support roller. It is adjustable in height trough the columns, by means of high resistance screws. To this effect the columns have screwed drills every 100 mm. The columns and thresholds are manufactured in HEB profiles.
    The distance between both support portal frames, is adjustable, by means of screwed drills in the bench and they are fixed to the required distance for the different tests by means of high resistance screws.

The servocylinder, which is performing the load (compression), is fixed on the threshold in its lower part by means of a flange, the jacket is then housed inside it. The main features are:

  • Capacity: 500 kN.
  • Stroke: 300 mm.
  • Double effect, with asymmetric chambers.
  • Finishing of the rod in ground hard chromium.
  • Sealing of the jacket by means of high pressure special joints and low friction made in turcite.
  • Antirotation system.
  • A compression load cell, 500 kN capacity, in charge of measuring force of the installation, is mounted through an intermediate flange in the lower part of the cylinder rod.
    A fork is tapped to the load cell which enables, by means of a through bolt to anchor the bending bridge.
    The load cell and fork are tightened by means of a counter nut.

SERVOCONTROLLED HYDRAULIC UNIT, BEST TYPE

This hydraulic unit is aimed at supplying, with a high pressure, the necessary oil for the operation of the servocylinder in the installation, to guarantee long life duration and high working possibilities.

It is equipped with a high pressure pump and a low level of noise, in an antivibratory assembly and flexible connection

A pressure limit valve and an oil filter with filling indication are mounted on the sealed tank.

The flow control in closed loop is made through a MOOG servovalve.

  • Safety thermostat tared in site.
  • Optical gauge for recessing level.
  • Hose and high pressure connections (400 bar).
  • Power supply: AC. Three-phase 380 V – 50 Hz + N + G.

DISPLACEMENT MEASURING DEVICES

  • Two displacement transducers (one for each part of the beam or slab to test) LVDT type: 40 mm, with an amplifier and a support.
  • A displacement transducer (for the measurement of the arrow in the center of the beam or slab to test) LVDT type: 100 mm, with amplifier and support.
