Everything, during its design and manufacturing process is usually subjected to different quality control processes: aspect, dimensions, durability, resistance etc. But between them, undoubtedly the most demanding are carried out over materials, products and weapon systems of military application, as it is known that this is the field in which concepts as Quality Assurance and Quality System were established for the first time.

From raw materials to the different components and finished product, materials testing is carried out to confirm that mechanical, physical, chemical, software, and other characteristics fulfil the maximum quality level of the national and international standards (MIL-STD, STANAG, AQAP, etc.) Materials Science Research and Development based on analysis and tests, allow to produce devices and products with improved tough, safety, durability, feasibility, lightness, etc, and even cheaper than those traditionally used for the same application. In front of such situation deeply conditioned by STANDARDIZATION and TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT, both manufacturers and military institutions have to have a Reference Materials Testing Centre, where testing and inspection of products under development can be carried out and also for verification of performances of existing weapons.

For these reasons IBERTEST can offer a key-turn project according to the specific needs of the customer to carry out successfully all the quality controls, tests, inspections, research, training and consulting.

After delivering of materials testing equipment for the different departments and after training of the technicians, the activities and services rendered by this Military Testing Centre will be very versatile and will have a great added value for the applicant. Because of the activities of this Centre, many of the manufacturing companies will be able to reach an optimum competitive level in the market which would allow to strength and grow up their activities, obtaining an improvement in the quality of their products and weapon systems.

This Centre could be established as Reference Laboratory related to quality standards to be introduced in a country or region, carrying out all the activities of an independent agency of Inspection and Control. This consultancy could also be applied to the establishment of Quality Systems in the military field as AQAP, turning on the main support of the companies which manufacture material for military applications. The main fields to carry out this consultancy, inspection and control activities should be:
