ABRASION MACHINE DIB-70_10

Abrasion Machine DIB-70 Abrasion Machine DIB-70 IBERTEST

ABRASION MATERIALS TESTING MACHINE Mod. DIB-70/10

According to standards:
  • EN 1339: Concrete paving flags
  • EN 13748.1 and EN 13748.2 terrazzo tiles for external and internal use
  • UNE-EN-ISO 10545-6: Ceramic unglazed tiles (resistance to deep abrasion)
  • EN 1344: Clay pavers
  • UNE 127-023EX: Concrete paving stone
  • UNE 127-024EX: Concrete agglomerated marble tiles
  • UNE 127-025: Precast concrete kerbs

The wearing machine is designed according to the specifications of the standards for the determination of wear resistance to abrasion in different materials.

The wear resistance through abrasion is determined by measuring the length of the print produced in the surface of the specimen by the rotating disc at a constant speed and pressure.

DESCRIPTION

The machine is made of the following elements:

Frame support

The frame support is the structure on where all the devices composing the machine are mounted. The frame is made of aluminium profiles so that it is easier to empty the hopper of abrasive materials.

The frame is based on the floor by means of rubber legs to enable the absorption of vibrations, bumps and noises, as well as the levelling of the machine.

Wearing Mechanism

The wearing mechanism is formed by a 0,37kW power motor, by means of a direct transmission it transmits the movement to the wearing Wheel which geometric characteristics are as indicated in the abrasion_machine_vacuumstandards (diameter 200 mm ± 1 // width 70 mm ± 1).

The specimen is mounted on a mobile trolley by means of lineal guides assuring the specimen is perpendicular to the abrasion disc.

The specimen is fixed to this trolley by means of a disc with a ball-and-socket joint to adapt to the possible irregularities on the contact surface of the specimen.

A 14 kg static weight is hanged on the trolley, which is necessary to cause the wearing print in the specimen. It was previously weighed so that the print in a reference is in accordance with the indications of the Standard. This mechanism enables to increase or decrease the weight, to prevent possible changes in the standards.

Mechanism to feed and collect abrasive

It is formed by a storing hopper for the abrasive, which pours it to the feeding hopper placed in the lower part of the machine. The feeding hopper pours the abrasive material in the wearing camber between the disc and the specimen to be tested.

In the lower part of the feeding hopper, there is a regulation valve to adjust the fall of abrasive material by means of a screw device The position of this screw determines the abrasive fall regulation which must be as indicated in the Standard, 3 ± 0,5 l/min. This position is calibrated in plant; however the user can readjust it.

To collect the abrasive, in the lower part of the frame, there is a slide which pours the used abrasive directly to a collecting tank.

Protection

The anti dust and anti projections protection is formed by a methacrylate cubic frame connected to a metallic fairing on its base. The methacrylate protection has a built-in cylinder flange where the vacuum cleaner is connected to absorb the dust and projections from the specimen tested, to avoid them to come out of this protection.

Vacuum cleaner

The vacuum cleaner has the function of absorbing all the dust and projections generated during the test, so that they avoid coming out of the machine and protecting the user.
